The objectives below are designed to help achieve our housing goal:

Objectives

1. To provide 35 Single Family homes to low to moderate income people within Americus, through CHDO's Single family Development Program and other HUD supported programs between 2006 and 2011, as a means of increasing home ownership among the underprivileged families in our community.

2. To provide 25 Rental Housing Units to Low income families in Americus, through CHDO's Home Rental Housing Loan program and other HUD supported projects for the district between 2006 and 2011 as a means of reducing poverty and increasing home ownership among low income households

Program 2: After School Program:

Goal 2.

To establish an after school program in our community

Objective:

To execute an after school program designed to provide mentorship, homework assistance, sports recreation to about 75 School kids between the ages of 8-19 in our community, beginning 2005.

Program 3: Financial Management.

Goal 3.

The provision of Financial Management programs in our housing Facilities:

Objectives:

To provide financial management classes and credit counseling programs for members in our community to help create stability, reduce welfare dependency, and create independence among over 60 expected residents in our housing program between 2005-2011.

Accomplishments:

Since we opened our doors to the public in 2003, we have touched the lives of numerous households in Americus through different program initiatives. This include our after school assistance to young people, and financial management programs to adults, though in a limited capacity. We anticipate expanding our services to the provision of Affordable housing projects in 2006. To achieve this goal, we have embarked on programs aimed at Capacity Building for both the Board of Directors and management Staff. We have also invested on grant writing training and other managerial training for our Executive Director.
